The Phobia of the Most Wanted – Nuisance Calls remain a Threat the Well-being of the USA’s and UK’s peoples

Facebooktwitterredditpinteresttumblrmail

Another week passed and the spams and scams continued nearly unopposed. However, the tellows database grows continuously and provides vital information on the most wicked telphone numbers there are. Here they come, the Most wanted of the US’ and UK’s scam and spam numbers:

1. 01613126506 from Manchester with a tellows score of 8
2. 01792455426 from Swansea with a tellows score of 8
3. 01172090021 from Bristol with a tellows score of 7

The setup of this week’s most annoying telephone numbers seems rather familiar. The Manchester number enjoys great attention as the high amount of over 3000 search requests indicates. Swansea follows suit with 2512 search requests. Both of the numbers mentioned before dwarf the 500 requests of the Bristol number which seems rather like a newcomer. The quantity of calls from the Bristol number in the last few days, however, earned it a place in the UK’s Most Wanted spam and scam calls.

Multiple, daily calls regarding payment protection insurance, which I have never purchased. Pre-recorded message. Pressing ‘9’ for automated opt-out has no effect. Extremely persistent and annoying.

1. 3605296156 from Washington with a tellows score of 8
2. 6518293110 from Minnesota with a tellows score of 8
3. 2132615790 from Los Angeles with a tellows score of 8

In the USA there has only been a slight change in the rankings. The Washington spammers may have outpaced their Minnesota counterparts but on the end of the day a pain in the back remains a pain in the back.

Annoyed reported:

I received the exact same script call with the exception of the attorney’s name and the phone number originated from. Here’s the call:

Just got a call from this number. Woman said, “We need your attorney’s information.” I said, “What are you talking about?” to which she stated, “Are you aware you have a lawsuit and charges being filed against (stated my name and social security number) and told me to call back 1-323-513-8685 and ask for their attorney Michael Carcer and he would explain everything.

I kept asking whom she worked for and she kept saying Legal Fees. This number showed up on my caller ID as Los Angeles, CA. None of this sounded correct so I checked out here first. As I was checking I called the number and a recording says it is “no longer in service.” So, 1) this is the same Indian call center that was calling me about a month ago to give me an auto loan I never applied for and who has my information (scary), 2) the incoming number was spoofed, and 3) this is most definitely a scam. I will turn them over to FCC and State Attorney’s office if they call me again.

Let not fraudsters dictate! As long as there niches they can hide in they will continue their dirty work. Report your findings to tellows and render their spam numbers and, therewith, their niches useless!

Guess Who Calls for Dinner – Again? Yes! It’s the Most Wanted of the Week! Beware Citizens of the US and Uk for They Won’t Stop Even If You Are Bankrupt.

The last week has seen nuisance calls gallore! Let’s see how the people of the UK took it:

1. 03333440125 premium rate service with a tellows score of 6
2. 01268297656 from Basildon with a tellows score of 7
3. 08448733571 premium rate service with a tellows score of 7

This week’s pole position is held by a yet to be identified phone number. Over 1990 search request in only five days obviously indicate a intense motivation to harass people. Second, a self-proclaimed Opus Credit Card enquires personal information and last but not least another premium rate service spreads the PPI nuisance.

Our User Joe wrote:

They say they have recently taken over from Citi Card and ask me to confirm my address/postcode etc. Will not say why they are asking. I do not have a Citi Card. I asked them to tell me one digit from my postcode but they can’t so they are obviously fishing for my details, possibly to send me a credit card I don’t want. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY PERSONAL DETAILS. Waste their time and wind them up a bit!

But what about the USA? Well, let’s have a look:

1. 03105999211 from Compton with a tellows score of 8
2. 5852477707 from New York with a tellows score of 7
3. 2187242094 from Duluth with tellows score of 6

What do we have here? A wannabe PC doctor, two automated call one of which originated from a company called teleresources. Well, sounds like heavy load annoyance. Let’s pray the tide recedes soon.

And here we go again – Most Wanted and Most Unwelcome!!! Let’s see which number is on the pole position this week

Hello folks,

the spammer’s week has been a busy one and pretty unnerving as well. Blessed are those with nerves of steel. For those unfortunate who do not entertain such a virtue let ye be warned of the following numbers:

UK’s Most Wanted:

1. 01613128082 tellows Score 7 from Manchester
2. 01792763475 tellows Score 7 from Swansea
3. 08455646709 tellows Score 8 premium rate service

The pole position is still held by last weeks number one, a claims company based in Manchester. Compared to last week the numbers output grew considerably reching its peak on the 6th of december. The self-proclaimed department of justice is still in hot pursuit and claims 2nd place again. Newcomer on the podium is a yet to be identified caller who use a premium rate service.

A most suitable comment for any spam/scam calls was submitted by our user DS76:

Pain in the posterior, needs to be disconnected asap!

Across the Atlatnic ocean scammer strategies seem not to be far different from those employed by fraudsters in the Old World. Let’s have a closer look:
1. 2142831316 tellows Score 9
2. 905488209664 tellows Score 7
3. 9722178347 tellows Score 9

Last week’s Most Wanted of the North Americas were replaced entirely. Unfortunately, the most annoying of them remains unidentified. The second place goes to the $1m lottery scam. Last but not least, the De Soto based Metro News Service, Inc grinds the peoples gears with repetetive calls.

Will Nelson offers a great alternative to simply answering the phone:

I let my fax machine answer such calls I don’t know who they are.. But I would like these calls to stop

Well, that’s it. Let’s see what next week has to offer. Until then…
